Back in 1994, twelve different pizzerias engaged in a "pizza war". ATV News reported that one pizza shop reduced their price for a large combo to as low as $5.99, making it difficult for any of the businesses to make a profit. Pizza lovers in Glace Bay probably enjoyed the prices during the battle, or as one young man put it:

"I eat pizza almost every day now, for dinner"

Cape Bretoners definitely love their local pizza shops. But pizza price wars can't be sustained forever. Every business has to remain profitable to stay afloat.
