Local social media users are reporting that Walmart and the North Sydney Mall were closed earlier this evening after orange smoke was observed in Walmart. Some suggested the smoke could have been the result of a smoke flare or some type of chemical leak. There has been no information provided by police or media at this time.

There was no indication of any injuries from online posters.
